Privacy Policy — Seelect

Effective date: June 5, 2026

Seelect ("we", "us", "our") provides an augmented-reality nail try-on app for iOS. This policy explains what we process — and, just as importantly, what we don't. We've kept it in plain language.

The short version

Your try-on runs entirely on your iPhone. Camera frames and hand/nail detection are processed on-device in real time and are never uploaded, recorded, or stored by us.
We don't create or keep any biometric template of your hand.
We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app — no name, no email, no cross-app tracking.
Tapping a product shade may open a third-party retailer; we may earn a referral commission. You leave Seelect and their policies apply.
We do not collect your name, location, contacts, photo library, or health data.

1. Information we process

a) Camera & photos — on-device only. The try-on uses your camera to detect nails and overlay polish, entirely on your iPhone using on-device machine learning. We never transmit, store, or access your camera feed or photos. Snapshots and any "copy a manicure" photos you choose stay on your device unless you share them via iOS.

b) Biometric data — processed on-device, never stored. To place polish accurately, the app detects the geometry of your hand and nails. This detection runs entirely on your device in real time and produces no stored biometric template. We do not collect, transmit, retain, sell, or share any biometric identifier, and we do not use this data to identify you.

c) Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how features are used (screens opened, try-on actions, crashes and errors). This includes app-interaction events, device model, OS version, app version, language, and a Firebase-generated instance identifier. It does not include your name or email, and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We use it only to improve Seelect.

d) Product catalog. The nail-polish shade catalog is fetched read-only from our hosting provider. No personal data is sent to retrieve it.

e) Affiliate / retailer links. Some shades link to third-party retailers. We may participate in their affiliate or referral programs and may earn a referral commission from qualifying purchases. When you tap a link you leave Seelect; the retailer's own privacy policy governs your activity there. Affiliate programs and the networks that operate them may use identifiers or cookies to attribute a purchase to Seelect — this happens on the retailer's side, after you leave the app.

f) Feedback you send. If you email us, we receive your message, your email address, and any app/device details you choose to include.

2. What we do NOT collect

Name, account credentials (the app has no login or account), email (unless you write to us), precise or background location, contacts, your photo library, health/medical data, or advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking. We never sell your data.

3. How we use information

Solely to: operate the on-device try-on; improve, stabilize, and debug the app; and respond to your feedback. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the providers that make the app work:

Google / Firebase — anonymous usage analytics.
Our hosting provider — serving the read-only product catalog.

Each processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell or share data for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data retention & security

On-device content (camera frames, photos, snapshots, saved designs) stays on your device under your control; deleting the app removes it.
Analytics are retained by Firebase under its standard retention settings (typically up to 14 months for event data).
Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to address your request.
We rely on Apple's platform security and on-device processing to protect your data; because we don't collect your media, there is no server-side copy of it to breach.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA, Korea under PIPA, Japan under APPI), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port the limited data associated with you, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email feedback@seelect.io. You may also revoke camera permission at any time in Settings → Seelect, and limit analytics via your iOS tracking settings. EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

7. Children

Seelect is not directed to children under 13 (or your region's equivalent minimum age) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. International users

Analytics may be processed by Google on servers in other countries, including the United States. By using the app you understand this processing may occur outside your country, under appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll revise the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app.
